Cobá is located in the state of Quintana Roo, about halfway between Tulum on the Carribean coast and the Yucatecan city of Valladolid. Cobá’s central pyramid is the second tallest in the Yucatán Peninsula, and it’s one of few that can still be climbed. The ruins are nestled a few kilometers into the thick forest, offering the opportunity to see birds, butterflies, and other flora.
