Casa Kaana

Welcome to Casa Kaana where you will experience the charm and relaxation of the Yucatan fishing village of Chelem with all the comforts of home in Mexico. The three bedroom, two bath rental home is just 75 steps from the beach on the Gulf of Mexico and a short walk or bike ride to the village Centro.  Kaana is a Mayan word that translates as sky or heavens. We chose the name because when we are up on the wraparound balcony the sky seems to go on forever.

The downstairs of the beach house has 2 bedrooms (Queen and a King + twin), living area, dining area, kitchen, and 1 full bathroom.  The front bedroom features a King bed, large closet area and a sliding door to the front covered portico. A twin bed can be used as a day-bed or alternate sleeping location. The second bedroom is located in the back with a door to the covered pool area. This bedroom features a double bed, large closet area, a large sitting chair and desk, wall fan, and air conditioner.

Casa Kaana’s kitchen is fully equipped with a five burner gas stove, double sink, microwave, coffee maker, blender, and toaster oven. There are ample pots, pans, utensils, plates and glassware.

Casa Kaana features an air conditioner in each of the 3 bedrooms and all rooms have wall fans. The upstairs Master suite has a Queen bed and private bath and direct access to a wraparound balcony. There is also a second full bathroom for guests upstairs.

There is also a separate entrance to the wraparound balcony from the second floor stairs. The pool and deck are accessed from both the kitchen and 1st floor back bedroom.  The pool is 9’ x 15’ and 5’ deep. There are four bar stools in the pool. The backyard also has seven coconut trees with room for parking.

The pool patio features an outside cooking station with propane grill and situated next to a patio 4 top and sitting area. There is also a 1/2 bathroom and a washing machine in a bodega on the patio. At the end of the yard, in the shed/bodega are four bicycles you can use complete with lights, locks etc.

Casa Kaana comes with high speed fiber internet with speeds greater than 20 Mbps speeds. There are also backup cellular internet in case of trouble with the fiber connection. A TV with Roku streaming device is provided, but bring your own logins to access your favorite streaming services.
